After the amalgamation of
the West Riding Union Bank with the Lancashire and Yorkshire Bank in 1902,
Clayton West becomes one of a large number of
Branches situated in Yorkshire, that are actually under the control of
Manchester District. By 1969, although Clayton
West is officially a sub branch to Skelmanthorpe, both branches are under the
control of the Manager of Market Place Huddersfield Branch. Clayton West not
only survives the merger with Barclays, it remains open as one of their
branches until 1988… |
